History’s Disasters Explored
Welcome to Catastrophe Chronicles, the podcast where we dive deep into the world's most shocking, tragic, and downright bizarre disasters—and add a touch of humor along the way. Co-hosted by Katie and Arin Babbick, each episode unpacks a different catastrophic event from history, with Katie recounting the full story and Arin offering fresh reactions, insightful thoughts, and maybe (probably) a few incredulous laughs.
Whether it's lesser-known events or headline-making tragedies, we’re here to explore what happened, why it matters, and the surprising ways people cope and rebuild. Our goal is to honor the human stories at the heart of each disaster while making space for some levity and open conversations.
Perfect for history buffs, disaster enthusiasts, and anyone who’s ever found themselves a little too interested in the worst-case scenarios.

Meet Katie and Arin Babbick, the duo behind Catastrophe Chronicles! Katie is a lifelong disaster enthusiast, fascinated by the stories of historic calamities since she was a kid. Now a stay-at-home mom homeschooling four kids, she brings her passion for storytelling to the podcast, mixing humor, heart, and a deep love for the fascinating world of calamities.
Arin, her husband, is a veteran who now works for the federal government. He's been Katie’s enthusiastic sounding board (and sometimes reluctant bedtime listener) as she dives into the wild world of disasters. Arin also takes the storytelling reins in some episodes, surprising Katie with his own deep dives into strange and fascinating events.
